We are located about 30 miles south of Madison, Wisconsin and two miles west of Interstate 90. Edgerton Fire Protection District proudly serves the City of Edgerton, Wisconsin and surrounding rural areas. The department's coverage extends into Rock, Dane, and Jefferson counties which totals about 100 square miles. Coverage also includes 10 miles of Interstate 90. The total population of both the city and rural areas is roughly 15,000 people.

As of May 2007, emergency medical care is provided by  both Fire Department First Responders and Curtis Ambulance Service. Curtis Ambulance is contracted  through the Fire Protection District to provide medical care at an Intermediate Technician level and to provide patient transport services to area hospitals.
